Two Nintendo Switch w/ Static Port Mapping?
-
Hi all,
I'm using Static Port Mapping for several of my consoles and online play generally works well.
However, recently I started playing some online games on both of my Switches simulatneously and there seems to be connection issues to Nintendo Online - I assume it's because of a conflict with the static port mapping?
Can anyone confirm if multiple Nintendo Switches can be behind the same pfSense firewall with static mapping?
Thanks.

Likely the same as other consoles here, where if both games need the same static source port outbound then it won't ever work with two consoles going to the same server trying to use the same static source port.
I have two Switches and static port set on both and it works fine for me, but I don't have two copies of the same game, so things like Smash/Mario Kart/Animal Crossing all work fine together, just not two of the same game at once.

Yeah. I picked up two copies of Minecraft and it seems to use Nintendo Online for play, hence perhaps that's why there is a port conflict. I guess the only want to get around this is to use Multi-WAN? i.e. one static port per WAN IP then it should work OK?

That, or multiple public IP addresses and doing outbound NAT for each switch to its own IP address.
