how to import ovpn file
-
Hello!
I just started to setup my first pfsense firewall, but stucking at openvpn site to site tunnel.
We have an openvpn server in an another location, we generated ovpn file that if i use with openvpn windows client i can connect to the server.
But i cannot find exact informations about how to import the ovpn file into pfsense. What i already done is:
- copied the CA part of OVPN file to System / Certificate / ManagerCAs
- copied the CERT and PRIVATE KEY part of OVPN file to System / Certificate / Certificates
- in VPN / OpenVPN / Clients added a new client with the key the connection is not working.
Can someone please tell me if there is any way to easily import this ovpn file into pfsense? Or any noob guide for this?
Thanks

Hi,
it is not literally an import, but that's the way to do it...
these links (VPN services) describe the method and more...
-simply apply to your own VPN client settings
https://www.expressvpn.com/support/vpn-setup/pfsense-with-expressvpn-openvpn/
https://support.nordvpn.com/Connectivity/Router/1089079142/pfSense-2-4-4-setup-with-NordVPN.htmdo not use special things that depend on the VPN provider
BTW:
if possible use cipher aes-256-gcm instead of aes-cbc
