Pfsense 2.5 Vlan Crash

Using esxi, vmxnet3 drivers, if I do anything with a vlan, the pfsense vm just crashes, doesnt do this on 2.4. Is there something we need to do in order to avoid this from happening?

Do you get a crash dump that you can post here?
I'm not aware of any specific issues along those lines, but if you can post more detail that would be helpful. Also post which ESXi version you have and the VM hardware version.
It's possible if you have an older ESXi it may not be compatible with FreeBSD 12.x and/or the VM hardware version may need updated and the OS changed to match.

@jimp ESXi 7, latest running on good hardware. I’ve messed around enough that the last crashes probably aren’t relevant

Can you replicate on a new VM and get a crash report?
