How to defeat SYN with snort on pfsense ?

Hello guys , I hope you doing well .

I'm somehow stuck at blocking syn , can you please give me your protection custom rules ?

mine is :

rate_filter gen_id 1, sig_id 1000990, track by_dst, count 30, seconds 1, new_action drop, timeout 30

alert tcp any any -> $HOME_NET any ( msg:"Possible syn Attack    Type : SYNflood" ; ttl:64; flags:S; sid:1000990; rev:1;)
