On the latest version. Tried unbound python mode and noticed my ad blocking no longer works but site blocking works just fine. Did a full force reload of dnsbl a few times but it hasn’t made a difference.
The moment I change to back to Unbound mode both ad and site blocking works.

Also, with python mode can I let go of unbound dns now or still need to use it? I have an internal well configured BIND dns which I would like to use instead of unbound.

Any errors in the py_error.log or the pfblockerng.log?

After the initial deletion of py_error.log I don’t see any errors. I have retested this multiple times and see the sites being blocked according to the lists but the ads are coming up freely as if they are not being noticed at all by pfblockerng. Same settings and if I move back to unbound mode and force reload.. everything works.

Once did see a bunch of errors in py_error.log.. will post those if I get them again.

You can download it before removing it from the Logs tab.

It’s a bit frustrating now. Checked with online ad blocker testers and can see none are being blocked.

Has anyone experienced this with python mode?

I had to do a clean install of pfSense to make python mode work. Not sure why. It was a two year old working configuration with multiple updates and never had an issue.

Now with python mode can I let go of unbound dns now or still need to use it? I have an internal well configured BIND dns which I would like to use instead of unbound.
