I have installed pfBlockerNG on my pfSense box. I really like pfBlockerNG but, when I enable pfBlockerNG it makes Microsoft Teams to lag / stalls for a few seconds before it continues.

I don't know how to debug this. The only thing I know is that is only happens when enable pfBlockerNG. When I disable the package (not uninstalling) I don't experience any issues.

I only use IP filtering. DNSBL is disabled.

      I'm running: pfBlockerNG-devel v.3.0.0_16 on my pfSense box v. 2.5.1 CE (Dell r210ii - CPU E31220 @ 3.10GHz. 16GB Memory)

Please let me know if there is any additional information I can provide.

      Thanks

What do mean by this "lag/stalls" for a few seconds? Do you mean it takes long to resolve? What DNS server(s) are you using? Are you sure it is not Microsoft!

Thanks for your reply. I experience the "lag/stalls" in Microsoft Teams as 2-5 seconds of freezes in video and audio.

It can be Microsoft, but when I disable pfBlockerNG the lags/freezes disappears. So that is way I think it is pfBlockerNG.

This is the DNS servers I use:

          89.249.14.54
          89.249.14.50
          8.8.8.8
          217.198.208.66
          208.67.220.220
          8.8.4.4
          208.67.220.222

@runevn You mention 'IP blocking'. Do you mean location/country blocking or are you referring to using some of the IP lists listed in FEEDS or some lists of your own? Did you check REPORTS while you or someone was using MS TEAMS to see what was being blocked at the time? Perhaps some blocking is going on that needs to be whitelisted. Microsoft does list what needs to be available for TEAMS to function: MS TEAMS INFO .

            Using modded BIOS (enabled CSTATES)

            Snort
            PFBlockerNG

@runevn I use only two DNS that is openDNS. What Tzvia suggested should help.
