      Hi All,

I am new to pfSense and I have decided to install it on my Hyper-V Server 2019 running on Dell R710, that is my home lab. Now I am running into the issue where after I install it and try to configure network adapter in pfSense I get error Network Interfaces Mismatch. I have attached screenshot of the attempt. I also tried to set up pfSense as Gen1 and Gen2 VM but same issue happened. What am I missing here?

Seems that you've changed the network interface model in Hyper-V after installation.

That's only a warning message. You should be able to go on and assign and configure the actual ones without any troubles.

          Hi,
          Thank you for your reply.
I don't think that's the issue. I never touched NICs. I do assign virtual switches to them and that's it.
In pfsense configuration I assign nic to wan and LAN side. I press confirm, it tries to complete the config but instead of completing it gives the before mentioned error and it asks again do I want to configure vlans and to specify the wlan and LAN adapters again. I am never able to get out of that config by completing it.

@nicesub No problems here, I installed it on Hyper-V the other day. Looks like you have loaded an older config.

What do you mean by older config? Which config? How do I change to the current one?

@nicesub said in Hyper-V server and pfSense setup issues:

to specify the wlan .... adapters again

Your dmesg logs doesn't mention a wlan NIC.

Edit : and where are the logs ??
