I finally decided to come to this site as a last resort for a little guidance. I have done google and YouTube searches, but have not come across a detailed answer:

I am trying to I am trying to setup to set up pfsense as a router on my laptop in vm workstation 12 pro  so i can connect to the internet. From what I understand I will need to have 2 NIC cards.  I have the integrated NIC and i also have hooked up a USB to Gigabit adapter (HIRO H50224), so it looks like this:

      em0 > WAN
      us0 > LAN

When going in the the vm settings there is only 1 adapter  and it is bridged, and from what I have read each configuration is a little different. I have seen it saying that  the adapters in the VM setting saying it should be set to vmnet0 & vmnet1

Right now it is set to bridged connection.

My laptop is an Acer Aspire V5 Quad-Core A8 -5557M

If anyone can assist, point me to a thread that has already addressed what I am trying to accomplish it would be a great help.

      Thank you.

You need to add an additional nic to the pfSense vm.
