I'm wanting to set up a VPN where I can access Sonos, control AppleTV's, etc. while away.  The primary reason for wanting this is actually to use AirPrint on my iPhone/iPad.

Is this layer 2 traffic that I want to flow over the VPN?  If so, will this be possible by creating an OpenVPN tap profile instead of tun?

pretty sure the ios openvpn connection app only supports tun..  If you want to do stuff like airprint from another L3 segment, be it locally or via vpn did you setup avahi ?

That's correct, but there may be alternative apps if you're open to Jailbreaking your device to get one that supports tap.

          Not that we'd ever recommend such a thing…  :-X

Speaking of the OpenVPN app, that thing needs to be updated.  It's GUI looks like crap.
