PfSense+FreeNAS on VirtualBox
-
Hello Everyone,
I'm thiking to use a Dell PowerEdge T110 II Server(debian), to make 2 vms, one to PfSense and another to FreeNAS to run on VirtualBox.
Processor: Intel Xeon E3-1220v2 3.10 GHz, 8M Cache, Turbo, Quad Core/4T (69W)
I guess 16Gb RAM is enough
8Gb - PfSense
4Gb - FreeNAS
4Gb - DebianAnd RAID 1 - 2x500Gb HD
This configuration will run fine ?

No, you have to use a type-1 hypervisor to make this run well. Get Xen or KVM. It's free and does everything you need. If you don't know how to configure things, use XenServer, it as a GUI program (XenCenter), both also free.

In the hardware part I need more than one network card ? Or one will work fine ?
-
That depends on how many connections you need. You could have no network cards at all if you don't want to connect to anything… or you can install 16 if you need 16 connections. It's up to you.

If you LAN network needs its own port, then yes. If not, then no.
