I switched from DNS forwarder to DNS resolver and successfully setup DNSBL per BBcan177 https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=102470.msg572943#msg572943 <== kudos to BBcan!

Fwiw, my DNSBL feed alias is simply "BlackList" and I'm using yoyo, hpHosts_ads, and someoneWhoCares

After I force reload; my dashboard widget includes both DNSBL_EasyList and DNSBL_BlackList

But; force CRON only shows DNSBL_EasyList within my dashboard widget ~ no BlackList

The DNSBL Feed setup page says "Select how often List files will be downloaded. This must be within the Cron Interval/Start Hour settings."

There; I've set "BlackList" to update daily, and my CRON fires daily at 4am

      What did I miss?

        Hi WmArnold1,

Force Cron just looks to see the Alias/Group is within the Hour of the Cron settings in the General Tab…. So it won't update when it falls outside that window.... Typically you would only use "Force Cron" when the cron event was missed and you within the same hour timeframe of the Cron settings...

After adding a new Feed, best to use "Force Update"...

If you want to reload all of the previously downloaded feeds and use different settings (IE: whitelist changes, TLD etc)... the use "Force Reload"

"Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it."

That was an awesomely fast reply BBcan ~ thanks!

Um; Okay, but I'm only forcing CRON because my BlackList feed disappears overnight - presumably, due to the same CRON issue at 4:45 am daily?

Can you elaborate upon "Select how often List files will be downloaded. This must be within the Cron Interval/Start Hour settings." ?

I.e: how should I set my DNSBL feed to be updated within my CRON?

UPDATE thanks for looking into this issue BBcan! It seems to have gone away now, and I don't know why.  I'll write again if the problem returns.
