updated to the latest build and saw this news, I was just curious as to who had served.
Support based on the serial number?

Its primary purpose is for our support customers, so they can give us something to reference as a system identifier. On hardware we sell the serial number is filled in there. On other hardware it should end up being a UUID, though it's possible the code might grab a serial number from the mainboard if it's filled in the same way ours are.

Personally I'd like to see some of the non operational sys info moved out of the widget to a separate page. Or maybe a separate Sys Info II widget.
Perhaps doing that even more non operational and operational sys info could be presented.

I agree it is getting a bit cluttered these days. The hard part is deciding what goes where and which things to include by default. Might be a good topic to visit for 2.4.

Maybe a way to get the ball rolling would be to identify low hanging fruit.
To me that would probably start with serial number, platform, CPU type, and version. Maybe even name.If name excluded, perhaps find a place for the name in widget or page title, etc.

Or maybe add configuration option to the sys info widget to select what is included. Sort of like some of the other widgets options settings.
Think I like that even better.

I'd lean toward keeping the name/system/version/serial and such together and visible, and split the stats out to a separate widget (state table size, mbuf, cpu, mem, swap, disks). As long as the default config has it enabled so they show one right under the other, and upgraded configs get both, it seems like it might be a good place to split in two.
