Very slow webGUI response

Hi guys
I am working with 2 pfsense firewalls the nice rack boxes. Recently i have upgarded their software to 2.3.2 mainly because i was trying to get carp working on them and one of them was on the new version.
Now the one on the old version is also the master. so i noticed some slow response from time to time from the gui but i thought that will go once i upgrade.
No luck.
The gui is sometimes very slow. So let's say i try to add a phase2 vpn rule in sometimes is instant, sometimes it takes 20-30 seconds to do it.
The system is running of an ssd so no fancy cf card involved.
The other problem is that when these 20-30 seconds happen the vpn clients going through the firewall (not the vpn tunnels, but clients having let's say anyconnect session on their computers that gets dropped)
could there be an odd setting or something that causes this?
