Controlling individual users access to certain webpages
-
Hello All…First time post one 9 month user of pfSense. I'm trying to figure out how I can control some of our users access to the web. I want to be able to prohibit some websites for some users. I have been able to limit some websites for all users, but not on an individual level.
Any and all guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Might want to look at squid or untangle. You might need something which uses ldap unless you can group users by IP range for blocking. If using DHCP this would be difficult without something which does not use ldap or some type of active directory connection. Also different users can log into different machines. Difficult to give a better answer without more info on how your network is setup.

Hi kapara…Well, as far as I know we are not utilizing DHCP. I do know that we have an active directory though. Unfortunately I did not set up the server originally and my knowledge and experience is at the "enough to get me in trouble" level. My goal for this week is to really get to know the server. I do know a little about squid so I will go in there to see if I can figure out a way to make this work. Thanks for the help kapara.
