PfSense 2.3.2 OpenVPN Bridge Interface not selectable.
-
Attempting to setup a network bridge for a server replication setup (requiring a non-routed network). I have setup a tun successfully through the firewalls between two pfSense routers. When I attempt to setup a TAP interface, the Bridge DHCP, Bridge Interface, etc is grayed out.
I have assigned and enabled the VPN and Bridge interfaces without success.

Do you have a screenshot of the options?
Usually the bridge interface and server bridge start/end will be grayed out until you check "Bridge DHCP", that option should not be grayed out.

There used to be an extra Package called something like "openvpn bridging fix" as mentioned here:
https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=46984.0
It's not there any more.Might my assumption be right, that it's generally not possible to bridge the tap device of openvpn server and client to a local bridge any more?
If so, I would like to file a feature request because this is common practive with openvpn.See also this reddit post by HalfBurntToast:

Your assumption is incorrect. That patch was removed because it wasn't needed, it added fields to the GUI which are already on current versions.
You have to assign the OpenVPN interface and then you can add it to a bridge.
Please do not hijack unrelated threads with random speculation.

Well I did not hijack anything, because the problem I'm having is exactly what this thread is about. Since it hadn't been answered it was the most conclusive thing to attach me to it.
I'm not sorry for speculating.
