I have to replace Debian based firewall which has a lot of rules where internal nodes and ports used are grouped to simplify operation.

I've created Aliases for nodes and no issues there but aliases created under ports just do not show up in the drop downs when creating firewall rules. Googling and searching forums did not help as most of finds are related to incoming rules done through the NAT.

Thanks for any suggestion you may have.

The port aliases should show up. Did you refresh the rules page after saving the alias?

Regardless, even if it doesn't show up in the dropdown menu you can just type it in manually.

Please correct any obvious misinformation in my posts.

Sun of a gun! For over an hour I've been trying to get it working and done everything you've suggested except for typing it manually - Thank you!

Yeah they don't get added to the pull-down.
