    Hi PfSense Experts,

    We are facing very odd issue with pfsense, It crashes frequently one or twice a day gets mount root error on boot therefore we have to forcefully powerdown system , once we reboot it is report like  pfSense has detected a crash report or programming bug. We have attached crash report here.  Is this could be hardware issue?

    I would highly appreciate if someone please help us in this matter.

    Thanks & Kind Regards,
    Nirav

      Your hardware is broken.

      MCA: Bank 4, Status 0xb200000000070f0f
      MCA: Global Cap 0x0000000000000105, Status 0x0000000000000004
      MCA: Vendor "AuthenticAMD", ID 0x20ff2, APIC ID 0
      MCA: CPU 0 UNCOR PCC BUSLG ??? ERR Other timed out
      panic: Unrecoverable machine check exception
      cpuid = 0
      KDB: enter: panic

      MCA/MCE errors can only come from hardware. There is no way for a software issue to trigger them.

          Hardware event. This is not a software error.
          CPU 0 4 northbridge
            Northbridge Watchdog error
                 bit57 = processor context corrupt
                 bit61 = error uncorrected
            bus error 'generic participation, request timed out
                       generic error mem transaction
                       generic access, level generic'
          STATUS b200000000070f0f MCGSTATUS 4
          MCGCAP 105 APICID 0 SOCKETID 0
          CPUID Vendor AMD Family 15 Model 47

          Nothing there sounds good, it also doesn't point to any one specific thing.

          Given that seems to be a >10yr old CPU, it's probably time to consider a replacement box.
