Why disable ICMP Pinger…?
You sure the service is running and that the cache was created properly?
I read in some other forum that ICMP pinger could cause connectivity troubles, should I activate it back?

the cache has been created: http://imgur.com/a/j2fWL -

Why disable ICMP Pinger…?
Lets try it the other way round - why'd you enable it? Are you configuring some upstream proxies in there? If not, the thing is completely useless.

I disabled it because someone told me it might cause additional issues, and no I'm not configuring upstream proxies

Yeah, leave that disabled, you certainly are not missing any functionality there.

Strangely, I have always left it as default, which was enabled, never really knew what it was for, just stood out to me when I noticed ICMP disabled on his config. Never has caused me issues leaving it enabled.

I just finished installing pfSense 2.3 and added the latest package of squid proxy (version 4.32), I configured squid with basic parameters (http://imgur.com/a/5cZnS), I started the service, then I enabled the squid proxy on chrome and it made my internet go down getting this error (http://imgur.com/a/roR0H) , I accessed the cache log file and didn't quite figure out the problem (http://imgur.com/a/rDi3U), as of the access log it's empty of course, and this is what the tab Real Time of squid shows (http://imgur.com/a/AK5br)
please helptry to flag Disable VIA header in squid settings. This resolve me many problem

Problem is with Snort, not with squid or squidguard. Try add pass list with alias (-es) in Snort. I installed clear Pfsense only with Snort and had the same errors like then, when I installed squid and SG.
