      Hello,

I have been using the pfSense-CE-2.3.2-RELEASE-4g-amd64-nanobsd.img.tar.gz image on some PCEngines apu1d motherboards with http://www.pcengines.ch/sd4b.htm SD cards.

Two of these identical units have started to complain about devices not being configured, which has typically gone away with a reboot. Now one of the units has stopped booting altogether.

Could this be caused by some incorrect settings corrupting the SD cards?

Get a SSD. Ditch nanobsd. Do a full install. Restore configuration backup. Problem solved.

So what you're saying is that NanoBSD has some bug that wears out the SD prematurely? I suppose this is the reason why this is being phased out.

No, I'm telling you that any consumer SD card intended for camera/smartphone use is a POS that's not suitable for this purpose. I know a couple of people who had a neat low-cost project involving RPi. After they've sold a couple of thousands of those appliances, they've found themselves in deep shit with the SD cards massively dying within 6 months.

Very well. I am extremely surprised that the SG-1000 is sold with a MicroSD card though. I've experienced these issues with SD cards before, but usually using read-only has helped these run for several years. Its a shame that the live-cd version isn't produced anymore.
