RT3070 problems

I've got a mini pci-e Azurewave AW-NU706H Wireless-N RT3070L
Looking at the pfSense Wireless Interfaces spreadsheet, my card is pretty well supported by the run driver and runfw firmware (It's listed on the "Cards supported by drivers" sheet even).
I'm not having much luck getting it to operate as advertised.
The sheet lists the card as being multi compatible - but when I attempt to create the wireless interface, I'm confronted with an error:

Even deeper into my issues - Common Wireless Configuration > Standard only offers options of 802.11b and 802.11g. I get no "N" option.
I have an identical box (same everything) running Linux and I'm able to create multiple hostap SSIDs, it supports N and everything works great. I was hoping pfSense would be a better fit for a firewall than my homebrew linux router…but I'm running into these issues.

I am having a similar issue. RT3070 in Infrastructure Mode is recognized as a RT3070, but loads as an RT2870.
I can only get an IP if it is OPEN and in 2.4G
WPA2 or N no joy.
I hope it's an easy fix. I specifically purchased this adapter because it said it was supported.

freebsd drivers in general is very prickly.
finding a good wireless card for pfsense is almost unobtainium.I got tons of mini pcie wireless cards (atheros most of it some ralink, some realtek) atheros is the only card that I know that can operate at N standards, pretty much everything other than atheros is limited to G standards (worst it only works on B standard). But dont count on atheros card either since most of the cards that I tried (as other users as well with different models of atheros chipset) all of them throws beacon errors which is more annoying (since it periodically disconnects. lockouts the wireless devices from network connection).
so if you have problem in wireless in general, deal with it or buy a separate AP.

So, you are saying that FreeBSD, altough is well suited for embeded applications, it is not suited for building a custom AP using pfSense ?
There is no single 802.11n card to make it work ? I didn't even mention 802.11ac ...
