Troubleshooting weirdness

I work remotely for fun money doing data entry.
Over openvpn:
all of a sudden, one of my tasks does not complete successfully.  I upload utf-8 .csv files to a database.  If items already exist they are ignored.  All of a sudden they are not being ignored and duplicates are being created.

My mother also works remotely sometimes and has the same setup.  I try from hers and it works fine.

I delete my vpn user and create a new one and now it is working fine for me.

Any ideas what happened there?  I can provide anything you may be curious to look at.

Theres one extra line in the vpn config with the problem = lport 0
