Pfsense 2.3.2: Cannot create alias with same domain for IPv4 and IPv6
-
Dear all,
I am using the latest community version of pfsense and I would like to add the same domain to an firewall IP alias as IPv4 and IPv6. The hint on the according page (my-firewall-host/firewall_aliases_edit.php) says:Hostnames (FQDNs) may also be specified, using a /32 mask for IPv4 or /128 for IPv6.
When entering the the domain and tabbing to the next field, the /32 mask is set automatically and I cannot set it to /128.
But this is not a global limitation because I already have raw IPv6 addresses in this alias.
What must I do to set the same domain for IPv4 and IPv6. This is rather important for me because this domains represents the machines of the monitoring system of my host provider.
Do you need any additional information from my side?
Kind regards and thanks for your time! -
Where does it say that?? That is not what the host alias says for fqdn not on the latest version 2.3.2_p1
Your trying to put host entries into the network aliases?

I am trying to edit a networks(s) alias. See attachment for more details.

if you have a fqdn why would you not use host list? That wording could be redone for sure. And yeah looks like when you start to put in a host name it changes to only show /32 and less as options.
