      Hi
I recently installed and configured pfsense v2.3.2.I setup captive portal and its working fine but I was wondering how can I monitor my wan interface to see information about who is using howmuch bandwidth based on login information from captive portal.
I wanted to see if there is any specific solution for this matter ?
I've tried ntopng and darkstat but the detail provided by them wasn't something that I needed. in fact ntopng provides so much detail that I didn't need to use and I couldn't customize it the way I wanted. btw it wasn't using anything based on captive portal login reports. :-[ :-[

I will be so glad to try some suggestions.

You can not see what users are doing by login names, unless you integrate with Active directory

My PFSense is currently integrating with active directory and I can see what users are logged in. I just need a monitoring feature to see what they're doing. for now it's not so important for me to see logging information. I just need a monitoring feature like Kerio control to manage the network with it.

More and more connections are point to point SSL based.
You will not be able to intercept that ….(NSA tried and failed for the moment, Mossad, KGB also ;)))

              I think I didn't make my purpose clear  :P.
I want to see how much bandwidth they are using through WAN Interface. I need to have some statistics in a specific period of time to report to the company manager. Is there any feature that I can use for this goal ?

I am sorry I know this is not a answer you are really looking for but I am just giving my 2 cents,  with pfsense I do not know of a way to view bandwidth by CP login info but if you like there is a other firewall called Untangle that can do exactly as you wish, and the good thing is you can keep pfsense as firewall and use UT in bridge mode
