Whitelisting Dropbox
-
Hey all,
I've been trying to whitelist dropbox a number of different ways but have not been successful, could someone please give me an idea about how to do it properly?
The actual site www.dropbox.com doesn't connect for some reason
Cheers

Couple things. I am not sure if dropbox deserves your white-list but their IP ranges here:

Do you not have any blocked logs showing for https. Been a few years since I have had any network with dropbox. Turn logging on the right rule to see attempts at connection to get your IP's. Then just allow in a new rule or use the Easy Pass Rule in the firewall logs.
This program is a real chatty Cathy on your local net so there is a setting or was a setting to suppress it in the taskbar icon settings. Hopefully it is still available. Sorry little grey cells don't remember wording of that setting.
My rule set allows me to see blocks easy enough but yours I have no idea.
For more personal control may I suggest Tonido instead.
What I meant by personal control is more control of your private data. Just a thought.
You know…like your folder on how to take over the world and stuff. -
What are your current firewall rules on the interface in question?
