      Using latest pfSense on SG-2440.

      Public IP on WAN
      Private net on LAN, 192.168.1.0/24

Attempting to use OPT1 on private net, 192.168.148.0/24
dhcp range enabled on OPT1 with range of x.100 - x.200

Old laptop, running BSD, connects and gets 192.168.148.100 address.
Ping to 192.168.1.1 gives no route to host.  Also ping to internet address also fails.

Packet Capture of OPT1 shows no packets.

Packet capture of LAN client pinging 192.168.148.100 shows nothing for OPT1 subnet.

      OPT1 interface enabled.
      config is static ipv4
      ipv4 addr is 192.168.148.1/24
upstream gateway is none (I also tried 192.168.148.1)
      reserved networks are NOT checked.

The firewall logs show nothing blocked from/to OPT1.

I expect I have a simple misconfiguration error but I can't quite figure what it could be.
      Attached firewall rules for opt1.

I also have a LAN rule for source 'opt1 net' any

Obviously you are missing the gateway in the DHCP server settings.

          @viragomann:

Sorry, I forgot to put that info in my post.  I do agree that gateway seems to be the answer but it is not working for me.

The gateway for dhcp server/opt1 is currently set in "other options" to 192.168.148.1
I also tried 'none'.  Neither entry solves my problem.

I have not rebooted pfSense since enabling opt1; reading another topic indicated their problem was solved after reboot.
I'll try a reboot later tonight.
