      Hi

I configured a site-to-site (with certificates) between two pfsense firewalls with openvpn and 2 wan connections according to this tutorial:
      https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Multi-WAN_OpenVPN

It worked perfectly, if the main wan goes down, the openvpn client uses de alternate connection defined  in 'Advanced Configuration->Custom options->remote 192.168.166.2 1194 udp'
and continue to work as expected.

But if for some reazon the openvpn client service is restarted while main wan is still down, then openvpn client can't restablish connection to openvpn server via alternate wan.

Is there some missing configuration to overcome this issue?

Please let me know if its needed configuration or log details to solve this problems

      thanks in advance

      Fernando

        Hi

I added on Custom options "keepalive 10 20;" on openvpn client and restarted the service, and the openvpn client reconnected via alternate wan (with main wan down). Unfortunately it never reconnect after a pfsense reboot.
