Confirmed, it seems to happen when creating a new interface (before it is enabled and saved), so it can't translate a NULL interface name to a meaningful string.

Excellent. Next time I might put it straight into Redmine (if that is possible). I'm evaluating 2.4 on a bunch of platforms since we're trying to migrate away from legacy BIOS requirements and allow UEFI in standard deployments, even if it will still take a year or so before 2.4 is stable and released. We're been looking into coreboot as well, but not sure what hardware we want to port at this time. Does FreeBSD/pfSense require something special from coreboot to boot? Or is some sort of standard payload like SeaBIOS used with an unmodified BTX/FreeBSD?
