OpenVPN - Can't install Windows exported client
-
Hi,
Since I've updated my pfSense server to 2.3.4 version I can't install Windows exported client on computers.
The error message told me that the file is incompatible with Windows version.
I try to install it on a Windows 10 x64 and a Windows 7 SP1 x64
Thanks for your aswers

No problems with openvpn-client-export 1.4.6 package. Tested by saving Current Windows Installer (2.4.2-Ix01): and installed on Windows 10. My preference is to download openvpn client from openvpn.net

I'm having the same problem here.
pfsense 2.3.4
openvpn-client-export 1.4.6 -
What version of windows?

To make sure it isn't a problem with the pfSense OpenVPN Client Export package, uninstall the export package and then reinstall it again, then export a new installer and try it.
If it still doesn't work, we'll need more information, such as:
- Exported OpenVPN version (e.g. 2.4, legacy, which specific installer)
- Size of the exported .exe file
- Windows version

Same problem after upgrade here. The export utility became functional after uninstalling and reinstalling the package.

I have exactly the same problem. Client export does not work. It give a 4,7KB size of binary file but that's not working at all. I'm on the latest version 2.3.4-RELEASE (amd64).
I removed Client install package and reinstalled it - no help. This occurs with all the client versions. OS: Windows 10 Pro, Browsers tested: Firefox 54 64bit, IE, Edge, Chrome.I hope that this will be fixed fast.

Uninstall the package. Then install the package again. Don't use the reinstall/upgrade button.
The underlying bug was fixed a long time ago but your system is still in a broken state that needs fixed manually by doing the above.

Thank you - this was the small detail I missed! Now it's working again as normal.

As a matter of feedback, removing and reinstall the package worked for me too. Soooo nice to have the functionality back.
