DHCP issue…no internet unless given static assignment
-
Currently running 2.4.0-BETA (amd64) built on Mon May 29 17:12:34 CDT 2017
This issue has persisted since updating to 2.4.0 BETA.
I can have machines DHCP an address without issue, but unless I give them a static assignment, they are unable to access the internet. The clients will get all information, DHCP address, gateway, mask, DNS, etc….but can't ping anything, can't route anywhere.
I can give that MAC address a static IP and everything works.

Hi
Can you please put your DHCP server config?
-
And how wold that make any sense at all?? Unless your handing them the wrong info via dhcp.. Post up your clients static info, and then your dhcp info..
-
Yeah sounds like their getting either a bad DNS or DG address. Have you tried to ping an IP address on the internet instead of a FQDN to rule out DNS?
-
Or someone enabled the 'Enable Static ARP entries' box?
-
It was the static entries box. I read that as if the DHCP server was disabled, those would be the only working entries.
I disabled that box and it works as it should now. Good call. Thanks for the help.
