Captive Portal Vouchers
-
Good day!
I would like to ask if the previously generated set of vouchers will be automatically invalid once a new set is generated?
Thank you so much!
-
No. Not as long as the voucher parameters (RSA key, etc) are not changed. You can create voucher rolls of different durations, etc.
-
Thank you for your response, sir.
I have never touched the RSA key and the like in the generation of vouchers. Aside from the given causes of voucher's invalidity, what else sir?
-
You did not say anything about vouchers being invalid. What is really the problem you are having?
-
Last May, I have Generated 1500 vouchers which will expire after 432,000 minutes per ticket. I have already distributed these generated vouchers to the students. However, just last week, I have again generated another set of 1500 vouchers having the same number of minutes. After the day of generation, students started to come in my office asking for another set of vouchers for the captive portal prompts a message: "VOUCHER INVALID." every time they are going to enter the vouchers previously (May) generated.
-
Then something else changed somewhere. Does the CP show both rolls still valid?
-
How will I know sir if its valid or not?
-
Well … test them !!
What about :
What is listed here : Status => Captive Portal => [ZONE] => Voucher Rolls ?
What happens when you test a voucher from every roll here : Status => Captive Portal => [ZONE] => Test Voucher ? -
New learnings sir! :D :D :D
I actually didn't know that I can view the voucher number including the time remaining per voucher. As I randomly checked 10 vouchers from the previously generated voucher, all are fine. Maybe, there were some which are considered invalid.
Anyways, thank you so much sir's for your help!
