Hoping someone can help me track down why some random sites are getting blocked with squid/squidguard. It's all using the default settings except I added more settings from the forums to enable better caching of content. In this one case, I try to access oldnavy.ca and I get the following. Unlike pfblocker, I can't see a way to allow the blocked sites and why they get blocked in the first place.

The following error was encountered while trying to retrieve the URL: http://oldnavy.gapcanada.ca/browse/category.do?
Connection to 149.126.86.74 failed. ng squid error.

The system returned: (13) Permission denied
The remote host or network may be down. Please try the request again.

I'm getting a similar issue. Seems to be intermittent. Some sites will randomly give this error, Google sites were doing it earlier today and now they're ok but some other sites are showing a Permission Denied error. The corresponding error in the Squid logs shows as… "TCP_MISS/503". Definitely not a DNS issue as the same behaviour occurs when using the resolved IP address.

If anybody can shed any light on this I would be very grateful.

Disregard, turns out these sites were being blocked by Snort.
