      Hi,
      i'm posting here because cannot comment the original post  (https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=45093.0)
      I tryed this configuration today ( carp on pfsense 2.3.4_1 and vmware esxi 6.0.0,3620759)
      and noticed that the required configuration for the distributed switch on VMWare does not require Mac Address Changes to be enabled.

      Promiscuosu mode: Accept
      MAC Address Change: Reject
      Forged Transmits: Accept

      Can anyone confirm this?

        I have come accross the same thing.

        The problem i have is when pinging the 2 carp boxes ping is fine.  When i ping the virtual ip address i get ping drops.]

        I'm struggling with vmware and pfsense.
