      As the title states:

      is it possible to use pfsense to provide ssl for servers that are behind it with say certbot formerly (letencrypt) or similar ware.

        Yes, you can setup HAProxy on pfSense to handle SSL and hand off to an unencrypted HTTP backend, and the backend doesn't have to know anything about SSL

        And you can use the ACME package to handle the certificate issue/renew.

        Post in the Cache/Proxy board for specific help with HAProxy, or if you have a Gold subscription, I made a hangout video a couple months back that shows how to setup HAProxy for load balancing, including integrating the ACME package with it.
