      Hello, everyone!

I just spent some time on troubleshooting why a formerly working static route is not shown (and recognized) in the system's routing table anymore. I then found out, that I renamed my IP aliases some days ago to make the names fit my naming scheme. Within the static route, the old name of the IP alias still is shown - but this alias doesn't exist anymore. For that reason I manually had to insert the new alias into the entry of the static route and everything is working again.

As I understand the purpose of an alias is that changes in e.g. IP addresses need to be done only once because the alias is referred in all the routes, rules and so on. My question is: is this a bug or a desired behaviour? In my opinion the alias name should be updated in all the references.

      Best regards,

      Phil
