Captive portal runs just simple disclaimer message with Proceed button (that means no authentication).
      A user has problem:

      • he can seen CP page
      • after pressing Proceed, requested HTTP (not HTTPS) page won't load up (timeout) => he cannot browse internet
      • other users have no problem
      • captive portal has no MAC filtering configured

According to /var/log/portalauth.log he has been accepted many times during the day:
      Oct 18 13:41:50 gw logportalauth[75440]: Zone: BUILD_F3 - ACCEPT: unauthenticated, 21:41:ad:ac:4f:11, 192.168.34.19
But his MAC address is not shown in Status -> Captive Portal under BUILD_F3.

      How is that possible?

      pfSense 2.3.4-RELEASE-p1

        Hi, mdes

If, as you wrote, other users have no problem, I think that the problem comes from that user's equipment, and not from your configuration.  :D

          Good news.
YOU are the chief of your firewall.
I you have any doubt, ask the firewall yourself directly.
"Skip the GUI - list what is in the firewall" : https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Captive_Portal_Troubleshooting
Check the tables :the IP and MAC are listed ? (thus : they pass…)

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??
