I tried connecting into OpenVPN the other day with 2 devices (iPad and iPhone) and ran into some strange and seemingly random connectivity issues. Eventually I realized it was issuing the same IP to both devices.

How can I get OpenVPN to give each device a unique IP?

Presumably you are using TLS authentication and connect from both devices using the same user cert, so go to the server settings and check "Duplicate Connection" in the "Tunnel Settings" section.

I disable duplicate connections and create a different user cert for every device.  Seems to be reliable (for years)

Thank you! This is what I was looking for.
