      hi,

      is it possible to create time-based rules for my kids?
      e.g. internet access is completly forbidden in the time of 1pm-4pm (time for doing homework, …), and then allowed again from 4-pm to 9pm (time to sleep). and then, shure, allow complete internet access for the whole weekend?

        Did you install pfSense?

          Sometimes kids are smarter than parents ;-) so, it does not help

            @GruensFroeschli:
            no, not yet. i´m still using monowall latest on my old wrap. i´m currently waiting for my new alix-board. i´ve tested pfsense a long time ago (i think it was a version prior to 1.0, some kind of beta i think), which was terrible slow on a wrap. but i don´t really remember exact details. this version lacked that feature, afaik.
            btw: aus der schweiz?

            @eugene:
            well, if the kids aren´t able to change the ip-adress i could define firewall rules. then they´re stuck ;-)
            they´re 12 and 15, so there´s not enough knowledge to drill holes in my fw.

              Ja aus der Schweiz :)

              A pfSense will still run slower than a monowall on a wrap.
              But i dont think it's that bad.

              If you dont have to connect regularly new deviced to the network you could also enable the "Static ARP" function on the DHCP-server configpage.
              With this you write the ARP-table on the pfSense by hand
              –> Either you use the IP the DHCP gives you, or your just wont work.

              (of course if you have wireshark, sniff on the network, capture a valid MAC/IP-pair and fake that you can still get on the net ^^")

                Hello,

                The 2.0-AA(1.2.1-RC2 too?) capable of creating a pretty decent scheduling access rules. It's worth trying ;)

                cheers,
