I am looking for a way to capture email address.  I dont need them to register, i just need them to enter a name and email address and allowed access after that.  From there grant them access.  Is there a way to do that in PFS?  I saw a few here in the forums, but they are a few years old.

Not without either modifying the portal code or, maybe, using a pre-auth URL that does so.

can i do it with a local computer running mysql php, and a form?  add the form to the captive portal page without authentication and have the continue button submit the info back to the form?

If you can program it you can probably do it.

You may refer to this thread: https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=57260.0 used that since 2015 and still working on pfsense 2.4.x . It uses FreeRadius+Mysql+PHP. Hope this helps.

              Cheers!
