New VPN to NordVPN
-
I've been searching and can't seem to find the right search terms for what I'm trying to do.
I got a good deal on NordVPN yesterday, so I signed up. I set it up in pfSense with no issues and am able to access the web without issue. I also have a VPN from my work to home using openVPN, which works fine without NordVPN connected. I am able to access the internet just fine, but when I connect NordVPN, I lose internet access. I have tried a million different firewall rules, to no avail.
Home network uses 10.0.0.0/24, IoT uses 10.0.20.0/24, VPN from work to home uses 10.0.8.0/24. I can ping from work to home network and IoT network, but not to the internet (DNS is not working, nor does ping to 8.8.8.8). Traceroute dies at 10.0.8.1
What additional info do you need from me to make this work?

I think maybe you misunderstood me. I am up and running just fine from home (behind my pfSense box). The problem I am running into is when I am at work. I connect to my home using openVPN and am able to access everything inside of my home network, but am unable to get back out to the internet. I'm not sure what you would call what I am trying to do…VPN bridge? Anyway, the whole point of it, is my work blocks non-work-related websites, so I connect to my home network using VPN and am able to get to any website that I want. Worked great until I added NordVPN on my home network. I did find a work around, but I'm not crazy about it. I can connect to NordVPN from work, then connect to my home VPN. Kind of a pain though having 2 separate VPNs going at the same time, just to be able to have access to my home network and also my home networks internet connection.

Do you have an outbound NAT rule from your VPN subnet 10.0.8.0/24 to your NordVPN interface? Otherwise I don't think any traffic from 10.0.8.0/24 will know how to leave your house when you're connecting from work.

Try this
NAT outbound rule:
Interface: NordVPN Client
Protocol: Any
Source: Network (OpenVPN Server Subnet)
Destination: Any
