      Hi,

Just installed squid and squidguard. I have the proxy and filtering working for the most part.

I've googled and tried various settings for days but still can't get rewrites to work specifically for youtube to restrict.youtube.com

I'm trying to understand how the rewrite functions works.

Am I correct in that once you define rewrites you need to specify which list to use in the ACL. Ie common acl.

      Can't get it to redirect.

I've tried to rewrite one website to another just to see if i can get it working.

Any info or advice on how the rewrite function specifically works would be appreciated.

For example if I wanted to redirect

      m.youtube.com to restrict.youtube.com

how would I go about it?

I think the best way to force YouTube and google into safe mode is to use DNS overrides.  This is what I have on my network.  The rewrites rarely work anymore as everything is HTTPS.
