      Hi all,

I have a Mini PC with pfSense 2.4.2 installed and I'm passing all my LAN traffic via OpenVPN.  This is working really well.

I also have a QNAP NAS and I want to be able to give links to friends for videos and photos.  I did not want to use UPnP so I port forwarded port 8080, on the WAN interface, to the NAS IP.

QNAP has it's own DDNS in myQNAPcloud and it is using the OpenVPN IP Address, which I believe is the issue that stops any shared links working using the myqnapcloud.com domain.

If I put in my WAN IP manually into the DDNS in myQNAPcloud it works just fine.  However my WAN IP is dynamic so this fix will only work until the WAN IP changes.

Is there a way around this issue?

      TIA

      Greg

Since you're directing the QNAP Traffic and also it's DDNS registration through the OpenVPN, it will register the public OpenVN IP in the myQNAPcloud DDNS.
However, presumably your VPN provider doesn't forward access to you.

So if you want the QNAP traffic to bypass the VPN and go over your WAN gateway, just add a firewall rule for the QNAP internal address as source to your LAN interface, allowing access to public addresses (or only to the myQNAPcloud DDNS) over the WAN gateway. You can select the gateway in the advanced options of the rule settings.

Thank you, will give that a try.
