Error when restarting Suricata

I just had this error in the Suricata log:
4/12/2017 – 10:27:05 - <error>-- [ERRCODE: SC_ERR_INITIALIZATION(45)] - No interface found in config for netmap
What does this mean? Can somebody please help me?

This means the network driver for your NIC does not support the Netmap API used for Inline IPS Mode operation. You will have to select Legacy Mode blocking on the INTERFACE SETTINGS tab for the interface.
Do a search through this IDS/IPS sub-forum for "Netmap" and you will find all the explanations and caveats around Inline IPS Mode operation.

One more question for you? Slightly different topic - How do I know or find out what version of Snort rules I need? When I go to Snort website, there are 3 different files, snortrules-snapshot-2983.tar.gz, snortrules-snapshot-2990.tar.gz & snortrules-snapshot-29110.tar.gz!
