Captive portal MAC Pass-through and Squid

Hi

I hope I am posting in the right place, and if this is a duplicate point me in the right direction.

I have setup PfSense with the following:

Captive portal
Squid Proxy (Transparent)

The Captive portal is using vouchers and works fine but we are required to keep a log of the internet activity etc for all connections to the Wi-Fi. We have two connection options

1. Using a voucher
2. Using no voucher but the device has an entry in the MAC pass-through section in the captive protal.

Option one works perfectly and logs all the traffic generated by the "Guest" user with the voucher however option 2 gets blocked no matter what they try browse unless I disable transparent mode. I can see that the real-time log shows no user when using the device that has a pass-through for the MAC address on the captive portal.

Is there any way around this?
