      Hi,

I was toying around with squidGuard on my pfSense 2.4.2-1 and I believe I uploaded a strict blacklist by mistake. One of the sites on this blacklist is a very common website where I live (www.lapresse.ca - local newspaper) .

The thing is I can't find where this blacklist was uploaded or where this setting is located, and I can't find a button to put back squidGuard to it's default out-of-the-box settings.  The above mentionned site is constantly blocked, unless of course I turn off squidGuard.

I don't want to add it to a whitelist, but I do want squidGuard to erase the blacklist I somehow uploaded to it (or reset squidGuard package to pristine default)

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it seems to keep its settings.

Any ideas? I did find an old post explaining how to erase the settings, but the filenames weren't valid anymore on 2.4.2-1.

      Thanks for any help….

What do you have for Common ACL - Target Rules List?  That's usually where you can see what your rules are and what the access mode is for each.  Also, you must remember that for squidguard, any change you make to any of the GUI pages will require you to go back to the General settings page and click Apply.

          I have

          !all

I didn't put this here explicitely (100% sure)

One thing I sort of remember doing, when I first installed it, is in general - blacklist URL I added the MESD list as found here: http://www.squidguard.org/blacklists.html

I can see it includes the page that is being blocked when I unpack this blacklist file, but I can`t erase it from pfSense.

Sorry, I should have been more explicit.

What do you have under Common ACL - Target Rules List if you click the + sign and expand the list?  Anything set to Deny?

What is the exact error you get?

I get an "403 Access denied" - the message is generated by my pfSense (browser bar's IP address if the pfSense).

As for common ACL - I see

"Test" (which is a blacklist for www.youtube.com only. (Used, you guessed it, as a test only)
Default access "All"  which is "Deny"

Wouldn't EVERYTHING be blocked according to this above?
