Please merge patch for kernel regression in FreeBSD re: AMD Family 15h CPUs
-
There is a kernel regression that has been identified and patched in FreeBSD that was causing the FreeBSD and PFSense kernel to not boot under KVM/QEMU in Linux on AMD Family 15h processors (Opteron G4 & G5).
Would it be possible to incorporate this patch into 2.4.3, or is it too late?
Here is the bug thread, with links to the patch and commit.

Fixed, please test the next snapshot.
Thanks.

Thank you!
I have upgraded to 2.4.3.a.20180314.0851, and the fix does not seem to be present yet. I will keep an eye out for the next build, and update this thread accordingly once I can confirm it works.

Thank you once again!
I can now confirm that this fix works. I am running in a KVM/QEMU VM on AMD A8 based host under CentOS7, and using Opteron_G5 as the CPU type for the guest OS.
