      Good day

I hope someone can assist me that encountered this before.

We are running the new HP Cube Gen 10 Hardware with Esxi installed for the host. We have PFSense installed as a VM on the Esxi Host

Now this is working 100%. .Until recently..

Every now and again, very random and sometimes multiple times in a day, Pfsense just goes down. In the System logs I see:

      Date:Time : shutdown    power-down by root:
      Date:Time : syslogd        existing on signal 15

Now I must mention - we do have some issues getting on the ESXI web interface so we do not really have visibility on the Esxi host yet.. :) I know this would have helped. We used to run Pfsense on a normal physicall server and we never had this issue. Now on the Esxi we have this.

So I suspect the esxi host is somehow shutting down the FW? But why?

      Any ideas?

      Thank you in advance

I've been running pfSense on ESXi for many years and I've never seen anything like that.  Perhaps the ESXi host is rebooting and you have it configured to do a guest shutdown on your VMs?
