      Marcelloc,

How do you unblock yahoo messenger, dropbox applications and etc on E2Guardian ?

Also, in our office we have this third party softwares.  When E2Guardian is active, the applications says there is no internet but when E2Guardian is disabled, the applications runs.  So how will I know that E2Guardian is blocking something so that I can unblock them.

If you are using transparent proxy, create an firewall alias with sites you need to bypass the proxy and add this alias on bypass proxy for these destination address.

If you are using wpad, included these domains/ips to direct connect.

im using transparent proxy.  where do I add those alias?  and like i said, how do i know the sites used by dropbox application, yahoo messenger application and 3rd party application that is block?  i check the realtime tab and it shows no blocked site during the use of those applications.

If you want to block dropbox style programs you can use snort open appid
if you want to allow it to work already in default
You can look in the file  /var/log/e2guardian/access.log (winscp or filezilla)
            or via ssh
            tail -f /var/log/e2guardian/access.log
Is transparent ssl proxy selected in squid settings?

For bypass: on the daemon tab
Bypass Proxy for These Source IPs : example client ip
            and
Bypass Proxy for These Destination IPs : example remote ip or alias name
you can type ip or alias name

Which side of the ssl proxy is active?
                squid? e2guardian?
Have you reviewed the access log?

It's not blocked, per say. Like I mentioned in the other thread, it's due to the programs not trusting  the certificate from E2 Guardian… Don't enable MITM until you understand networking enough to run packet captures and make exceptions..
