I have read over 30+ posts, and troubleshooting forums.  I cannot get my SG1000 running pfSense 2.4.3 (latest as of 5/17/18) to get SquidGuard to work.  I have started from a fresh intsall, installed squidGuard first, and started from there.  it ALWAYS stops.

      I've tried:

Is Squid itself running while Squidguard has stopped? Both services stopped working for me after I updated to the latest version of PfSense.

Squidguard requires squid to be installed first, I believe, since it modifies squid's configuration.  It's also not really a service.  It's a helper application that gets spawned by squid in realtime for every URL being processed.
