It would be great to see what devices and services enumerate along with any protocol details.

      SG-3100 24.11-RELEASE (arm) | Avahi (2.2_6) | ntopng (5.6.0_1) | openvpn-client-export (1.9.5) | pfBlockerNG-devel (3.2.1_20) | System_Patches (2.2.20_5)

        Hi,

I was asking the same question ones.
This is what I figured out :

Use the console or SSH access, and use option "8".
Type avahi and then the TAB key.
        You'll be seeing this :

        [2.4.3-RELEASE][admin@pfsense.brit-hotel-fumel.net]/root: avahi
        avahi-browse avahi-daemon avahi-publish avahi-publish-service avahi-resolve-address avahi-set-host-name
        avahi-browse-domains avahi-dnsconfd avahi-publish-address avahi-resolve avahi-resolve-host-name
        [2.4.3-RELEASE][admin@pfsense.brit-hotel-fumel.net]/root: avahi-

        These are the avahi commands.
Take avahi-browse as an example, use it like this

        avahi-browse -a

You'll be seeing a real-time (?) list of all devices it has discovered.

Want to know about other options and other avahi commands ? Use the google-man pages ☺

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

Mostly because nobody is actively developing on that package. We've nudged it here and there (like the cache option) but it's been mostly unchanged for years.

If someone wants to take that on, code it up and submit a PR.
