      Hi,

I have Squid and Squidguard packages installed on pfsense. I need to configure LDAP authentication but got confused if this needs to be configured on squid or squidguard or else on both. I managed to do an LDAP authentication on squid which asks for username and password when a user opens up an internet browser but, the filtering from squidguard does not take place. What am I doing wrong please? Thank you

you must configure the authentication in both now so that it works, you need to create an acl of groups with AD in the squidguard by changing the parameters of the example:

        ldapusersearch ldap://192.168.0.100/DC=domain,DC=com?sAMAccountName?sub?(&(sAMAccountName=%s)(memberOf=CN=it%2cCN=Users%2cDC=domain%2cDC=com))
